Polyboard is a Recycled Extruded Biofiber Thermoplastic Composite Trimed Board, and is a top scorer in all the above categories.

Recycled:
Polyboard is made of 100% clean, unprocessed industrial plastic scrap with "zero heat history", not post-consumed scrap. Today, very few companies can offer a 100% recycled product. 100% recycled means direct conversion without the use of lubricants, stabilizers and virgin additives. Polyboard does not produce any waste and pollutants during its manufacture and in use.

On the other hand, post-consumed scrap is a great air, soil and water contaminator (sorting out, washing, drying, etc. are costly and dirty operations that are necessary prior to conversion).

Polyboard is odourless and non-toxic and its risk potential for misuse is minimal. In addition, it has no adverse health effects on both humans and animals.

In fact, Polyboard's unique cushioning feature in combination with the fact that it is waterproof, non-toxic, heat-resistant, soundproof, chemical-resistant, mold-resistant, decay-proof, termite-repellent, animal-chew-deterrent and power-washable make Polyboard the ultimate agricultural board! It is proven that the use of Polyboard for cattle ranches and dairy cow milking parlors encourage faster cattle growth and 3% more milk production when compared with other products used for the same applications.


Moreover, Polyboard's unique cushioning and insulation features, combined with its extreme toughness, non-toxicity, urine-resistance and little need for sanitization make it the best "animal-friendly" board. For instance, the Toronto Zoo uses Polyboard for flooring for cages of wild animals.

Extruded: Most plastic boards are manufactured by using extrusion, compression and injection technologies. The length of the compression molded and the injection molded boards is fixed. Polyboard is an extruded board and its length has no limit.

Polyboard’s proprietary compounding extrusion is the most energy efficient compounding extrusion among the all known extrusion technologies. In the manufacture of Polyboard, an output rate of 5000 lbs/hour requires only 220 KW power. Common compounding extruders with a 2,000 lbs/hour output rate usually require power in the range of 600-800 KW.

Biofiber: At the end of the last century, the most fashionable products were the WPC (Wood Plastic Composites). Now, we are in the biofiber plastic composites and bioplastics era.

Thermoplastics: Thermoplastics can be ‘thermally treated’ repeatedly. In other words, thermoplastics can withstand 2 to 4 recycle cycles prior to chemical degradation. The fact that Polyboard can be recycled a number of times means that it does not require disposal when other products do. Therefore, it uses up less land for disposal than other plastic sheets, plywood, MDF and other wood-based products.

Composites: Composites are matrix/reinforcement hybrid materials. Polyboard
is a composite product comprising plastic and biofibers. The performance of composites is always better than the performance of its component materials.

Trimed: Polyboard can be trimmed by formatting (manual or CNC saw machining of any board sizes less than the standard 4' x 8') and patterning (water jet cutting or stamping of signage, automotive and industrial parts of any desirable pattern).

When combined, the trimming and the surfacing of the Polyboard can be used for the manufacture of sandwiched or single-side laminated structural, decorative and insulation boards/panels/parts.

No special machines or tools are required for the trimming of Polyboard. All standard wood machining tools and water jet cutters are good for the Polyboard trimming.

Board: Polyboard is a Board as opposed to a film, foil or sheet.

The use of Polyboard not only eliminates the highly polluting plastic waste, but saves countless trees to maintain the ecological balance of Nature. In evey hour, 20,000 acres of forests are lost forever. The world's 3 major rainforests are rapidly diminishing - Indonesia loses 7,500 sq.km. while Brazil clear-cuts 15,000 sq.km each year. The deforested area in Amazon is already 60% larger than the whole Malaysia. Japan will become naked in 2 years' time if its own forests are used for producing plywood. In fact, half of the world's forests have disappeared. The world's scientists' catastrophic verdict: "The loss of rainforests - "carbon sinks" would be devastating to the globe's environment, and would result in enormous decreases in air quality and increases in lung diseases and cancer. Global warming brings drastic climatic changes, more disastrous storms and floods and the melting of polar ice caps to raise sea levels to submerge many coastal cities - London, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong...! The polar ice caps are actually melting now! Using plywood and burning plastics would doubly quicken the process of our self-destruction!

On the other hand, tens of million tons of plastic waste are plaguing our environments. The incineration of plastic waste not only damages the Ozone Layer further, aggravating the climate changes that are threatening our safety and living condition, but also produces the cancer-causing dioxin and polychlorobiphenyl concentrate. Burying such ashes would pollute the ground water and the effect would be even more disastrous than nuclear bombardment! The ever-tightening environmental regulations could make it increasingly difficult to dump broken toxic-glued plywood into any landfill site - another nightmarish environmental problem!
